Stauffer Academy is pleased to host for the Creative Associates course Abel Selaocoe, a South African cellist who is redefining the boundaries of his instrument.
Abel Selaocoe moves seamlessly through a myriad of genres and styles, from collaborations with global musicians and beatboxers to solo concert and classical recital performances, combining virtuosic performances with improvisation, singing and body percussion.
His course, open to all string players, will mix tradition and innovation in a multicultural and cross-cultural way.
The course will be held July 10-13, 2023 at the Stauffer Center for Strings.
