Matthew Barley has created a unique international career straddling improvisation, computer technology, collaborations with jazz and Indian musicians, teaching and arranging, with always cello at its core. He has played with some of the most renowned orchestras (Frankfurt Radio Symphony, BBC Philharmonic/Scottish, Czech Philharmonic), in some of the greatest concert halls, performing premieres of some of the most important contemporary composers (MacMillan, Dusapin, Larcher).
