Lorraine Campet<\/strong> discovered the double bass at the age of 5, and first learnt with Jean-Edmond Bacquet before being accepted at the Paris CNSM in 2012, in Thierry Barb\u00e9’s class. She received her Masters degree in 2016 and went on to study for one year with Petru Iuga at the University of Mannheim in Germany.<\/p>\n

Alongside the double bass, Lorraine also plays the violin, learning first with Suzanne Gessner at the Regional Conservatoire of Paris, before being accepted at the Paris CNSM where she received her Bachelor degree in Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabedian\u2019s class.<\/p>\n

Lorraine is frequently invited to play as a soloist and give masterclasses worldwide, including China, USA, UK, Germany, and Venezuela. She regularly plays as a chamber musician in festivals such as\u00a0le Festival de P\u00e2ques<\/em>\u00a0in Deauville,\u00a0les Rencontres Musicales d’Evian<\/em>,\u00a0Musique en R\u00e9<\/em>,\u00a0Festival du P\u00e9rigord Noir<\/em>,\u00a0Festival de Perros-Guirec\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Les Folles Journ\u00e9es de Nantes<\/em>, alongside artists such as the Trio Wanderer, Christophe Gaugu\u00e9, Lise Berthaud, Sarah Nemtanu, Fran\u00e7ois Salque, the Modigliani Quartet, Christophe Morin, and Marianne Piketty.<\/p>\n

She has been awarded the first prize for both the Leopold Bellan International Competition and the International Double Bass Competition in Amsterdam, 2014. In 2017, she won both the Festival Prize and the prize for best interpretation of a contemporary piece at the\u00a0Festival Musical d\u2019Automne de Jeunes Interpr\u00e8tes<\/em>. Last year, she also won second prize at the International Giovanni Bottesini Competition.<\/p>\n

Since 2015, she has been associate principal bass for the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.<\/p>\n
