Academic excellence and a unique catalog characterize the project sponsored by the Fondazione Stauffer, increasingly a point of reference among the world&#8217;s large international institutions for higher musical education. <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Over 40 internationally-renowned artists, exceptional teachers and dozens of international partner institutions and organizations have come together to support the growth and development of the most innovative high-level musical education project in the world, all dedicated entirely to strings.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Alongside the Accademia Stauffer&#8217;s impressive faculty (maestros <strong>Salvatore Accardo<\/strong>, <strong>Bruno Giuranna<\/strong>, <strong>Antonio Meneses<\/strong>, <strong>Franco Petracchi<\/strong> and the <strong>Quartetto di Cremona<\/strong>), we find prestigious names from around the international music community, like <strong>Viktoria Mullova<\/strong>, <strong>Lawrence Power<\/strong>, <strong>Antoine Tamestit<\/strong>, <strong>Sol Gabetta<\/strong>, <strong>Steven Isserlis<\/strong>, <strong>Mischa Maisky<\/strong>, <strong>Alisa Weilerstein<\/strong>, <strong>Michael Barenboim<\/strong>, <strong>Aleksey<\/strong> <strong>Igudesman<\/strong>, <strong>Caroline Shaw<\/strong>, and new appearances such as violinists <strong>Pinchas Zukerman Vadim Repin<\/strong>, <strong>Gil Shaham<\/strong>, and Italian composer <strong>Giovanni Sollima<\/strong>. Special sessions will feature musicians <strong>Alexander Pavlovsky<\/strong> (violin, Jerusalem Quartet), <strong>Miguel da Silva<\/strong> (Viola, Quartetto Ysa\u00ffe), <strong>Eckart Runge<\/strong> (cello, Quartetto Artemis), as well as Italian pianists <strong>Bruno Canino<\/strong> and <strong>Michele Campanella<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>This academic year will also see the second edition of the <strong>Concertmaster Artist Diploma<\/strong>, the <strong>first advanced specialization course in the world<\/strong>, held by the <strong>top 10 concertmasters<\/strong> of Europe&#8217;s main orchestras. Last year saw more than 70 candidates, with only 10 selected. Today these alumni are already performing leading roles in prestigious international orchestras. Among this year&#8217;s new developments is the launch of special sessions together with violinist <strong>Francesca Dego<\/strong> (alumni of the Accademia Stauffer), conductors <strong>Daniele Rustioni<\/strong> and <strong>John Axelrod<\/strong> and the participation of the string section of the <strong>EUYO<\/strong> (European Union Youth Orchestra).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>There&#8217;s also important news for the <strong>Stauffer Labs<\/strong> (creative departments for musicological research, composition, violin making, music production, artistic management and innovation). The <strong>New York Times<\/strong> will be collaborating for the Media Lab on music journalism. <strong>Giovanni Sollima<\/strong> will partner for the Composition Lab. <strong>Gregg Alf<\/strong> (an American luthier who studied in Cremona) is on board for the Lutherie Lab. Two international art agencies, <strong>IMG Artists<\/strong> and <strong>HarrisonParrott<\/strong>, will collaborate for the lab on artistic management, while the lab in Production will be held by professors of the <strong>SAE Institute<\/strong> in Milan and by award-winning music producer <strong>David Frost<\/strong> (winner of some 20 Grammy Awards).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Collaborations with important specialized ensembles and residences with major world universities are all set to continue, including partnerships with <strong>Yale University School of Music<\/strong>, <strong>Harvard University<\/strong>, the <strong>Royal College of Music<\/strong> in London, the <strong>University Sa\u00efd Business School<\/strong> <strong>of Oxford University<\/strong>, and the <strong>Sorbonne University of Paris<\/strong>, together for the first time on a single platform for higher musical education.
