Cremona and Stauffer for the Chamber Music Networking Event with MERITA

On October 29 and 30, Cremona will welcome the international network of the Chamber Music Networking Event, an initiative promoted by Le Dimore del Quartetto, Fondazione Stauffer, and Museo del Violino within the framework of MERITA, the European platform supported by the Creative Europe programme.

The initiative represents a major opportunity for dialogue between local institutions and key players from the international music scene. In this context, Fondazione Stauffer and the Stauffer Academy reaffirm their role as a leading benchmark in advanced training for string instruments and in promoting Cremona’s violin-making heritage.

The program will kick off on Thursday, October 29, at the Sala Maffei of the Chamber of Commerce with the panel Dialogue for a sustainable European music ecosystem, an opportunity to explore the initiatives and activities of Fondazione Stauffer, present MERITA projects, and offer a preview of the International Violin Making Competition “Antonio Stradivari”. The first day will conclude at the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium of the Museo del Violino with the Concert and Award Ceremony of Le Dimore del Quartetto, a special celebratory event marking the organization’s 10th anniversary.

On Friday, October 30, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Palazzo Stauffer will host the Professional Workshop on Chamber Music, dedicated to industry operators. The meeting will bring together the 19 member organizations of the MERITA platform, the SynAmp consortium, international partners, and local stakeholders. The objective of the workshop will be to address current opportunities, challenges, and development models in chamber music—from the impact of European digital platforms to synergies among industry stakeholders—positioning Palazzo Stauffer at the heart of a collaborative roundtable aimed at building new connections and partnerships.
