A bridge between Cremona and Paris: Paolo Tedesco in concert at the Sorbonne
Great success for Paolo Tedesco, a student in the Cello course, who performed in concert at the Sorbonne in Paris on May 19, 2025. Titled “Dances and Tales: The Cello Through the Centuries,” Tedesco’s performance was part of the collaboration between the Stauffer Academy and the prestigious French university. The concert marked the conclusion of a promotional project developed by three students from the Master’s programme in Music Administration and Management at the Sorbonne’s Faculty of Humanities — a course designed to train key managerial professionals in the music industry, essential for supporting and developing artistic careers.
At the Amphithéâtre Richelieu, Paolo Tedesco performed a demanding and expressive programme, featuring works such as Bach’s Suite No. 1, Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata, Janáček’s Pohádka, and Poulenc’s Cello Sonata. The concert was distinguished by its originality and included dancer Johana Laurent, who translated the music into movement. Pianist Monica Cattarossi performed the piano part.
