A Guarneri del Gesù Violin for Stauffer student Ulisse Mazzon
Ulisse Mazzon, former Stauffer student of Maestro Salvatore Accardo, has been granted the one-year loan of an extraordinary violin — the Guarneri del Gesù “Muntz” (1736) — an instrument of inestimable value (over €10 million), owned by the Nippon Music Foundation.
At just 25 years old, Mazzon — a Venetian violinist among the most promising on the national and international scene — has won numerous competitions, including the prestigious Premio Postacchini 2025, and has already performed with major orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic.
His outstanding artistic profile and the esteem of great teachers, including Salvatore Accardo, led to the decision to entrust him with this exceptionally rare instrument, which he will play at important international events and festivals — an honour that allows the voice of the Stauffer tradition to resonate on the world’s most important stages.
