Stauffer and Cremona Musica: presentation of the book “Voci ritrovate”

On October 3 at 5:00 PM, the Sala Amati at CremonaFiere will host the presentation of the book Voci ritrovate, edited by Ilaria Giani. This important event is promoted as part of the collaboration between the Stauffer Academy and Cremona Musica.

The volume represents the first monographic study published in Italy dedicated to the British violist and composer Rebecca Clarke. Through a blend of historical reconstruction, musical analysis, and critical reflection, the work traces the progressive rise of the viola as a solo instrument, presenting Clarke in all her human and artistic complexity.

The event will feature a special live musical performance: Niccolò Corsaro, a student from Bruno Giuranna’s Viola Class, joined by pianist Clara Dutto, will perform Rebecca Clarke’s famous Sonata for Viola and Piano (1919), widely considered one of the most fascinating and significant contributions to the 20th-century viola repertoire.
