Aleksey Igudesman, versatile composer and violinist will lead the workshop “Strings of the World”. The program explores different styles, techniques and genres of music.
The workshop is based on strings technique and welcomes all instrumentalists to join in the fun. Physical movement and dance during performance, an Igudesman specialty, will also be an integral part of this offbeat masterclass.
The workshop will culminate in the performance of the “Strings of the World”, with the music by Igudesman, Mozart and Beethoven, inspired by Scotland, Mexico, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Kazakhstan, Japan, Cuba, Austria, Italy, America, Ireland and India.
Aleksey Igudesman has composed and arranged a series of spirited, inspired and inspiring music, at times slow and soulful, at other times fast and frivolous, from Scotland The Brave to Jewish Klezmer songs and the sensual Salsa de la Luna. In evening of music full of diversity, Igudesman displays his love and knowledge of different cultures.
Besides the celebration of string music from around the world, some of Igudesman’s legendary re-arrangements of classics like Beethoven’s “For Elise” and Mozart “Alla Turca” turn into brilliant, fun and at times even ethnics gems.
In an unforgettable performance the orchestra takes on the role of a traveling band that may even endeavour into movement and dance!
