Lawrence Power for a new Viola Masterclass
Lawrence Power, the celebrated British violist and one of the leading interpreters of his instrument on the international stage, considers the viola his “mother tongue,” a means through which he expresses himself with depth and natural ease. From June 3 to 5, he returned to Stauffer for a new masterclass focused on the solo and chamber repertoire for viola. An eclectic and inquisitive artist, Power explores a wide musical landscape ranging from the classical to the contemporary, collaborating with major orchestras and ensembles around the world and working closely with living composers to expand the expressive and technical boundaries of the viola.
