At a very young age he graduated at the Antonio Vivaldi Conservatory in Alessandria, under the guidance of M° Emilio Benzi, and continued his studies at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona under the guidance of M° Franco Petracchi. Later, he won auditions and competitions in the most important Italian orchestras.
In 1996, he won the competition for Principal Soloist double bass at the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di S.Cecilia in Rome, the position that he currently holds.
With the double bass quartet, The Bass Gang, of which he is a founding member, he is regularly invited to the most important international festivals and exhibitions.
He collaborates, as Principal Double Bass, with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, with the Fondazione Toscanini in Parma, with the Orchestra Leonore in Pistoia, with the Orchestra Filarmonica in Turin, with the International Orchestra MFHR – Musicians For Human Rights, with I
Solisti di Pavia conducted by Enrico Dindo, with the Teatro dell’Opera of Rome and for two years he has been part of the orchestra of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
He also collaborated with the Mozart Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado, and with the Ensemble dei Solisti d’Europa.
Since 2012 he has been invited as Principal Soloist Double Bass to be part of the chamber orchestra “Archi dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia”.
He has taught at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome as professor of both double bass and orchestral performance practice. He currently teaches at the Gaetano Braga Conservatory in Teramo as a double bass teacher and he is regularly invited to hold master classes in various conservatories and important musical institutions in Italy and abroad.
