Roberto Paruzzo completed his musical studies at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, graduating with top marks, honors, and a special mention ad honorem under the guidance of Paolo Bordoni. He then continued his advanced training for ten years with Franco Gei, a student of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Pier Narciso Masi, and Kendall Taylor, Principal of the Royal College of Music in London.

He is the winner of 14 piano competitions in Italy, including First Prize at the 24th “Coppa Pianisti d’Italia” in Osimo, the 16th “Città di Albenga” Competition, and prizes in Mantua, Genoa, and Monza. In 1992, he was awarded a special prize at the “Premio Venezia.”

Paruzzo began his solo career early, performing in major Italian and international venues such as: La Fenice and Teatro Goldoni in Venice, Bibiena in Mantua, Ponchielli in Cremona, Goldoni in Florence, Eden in Treviso, Toniolo in Mestre, Volkshaus in Zurich, National in Bern, Montforthaus in Feldkirch, Theater Basel, Teatro di Locarno, Stadtstheater in Schaffhausen, Stadthalle in Balingen, Hebbel-Theatre in Berlin, Teatro in Istanbul, NDR in Hamburg, Duke’s Hall in London, Drama Theatre in Hong Kong, São Paulo Museum of Art, among many others.

He is regularly invited by prestigious institutions including: La Società dei Concerti and Serate Musicali in Milan, Società dei Concerti in Cremona, Accademia I Filarmonici in Verona, Teatri S.p.A. in Treviso, Amici della Musica in Mestre, Teatro Ristori in Verona, Teatro Regio in Parma, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Associazione “A. Scarlatti” in Naples, Festival Internazionale delle Nazioni in Città di Castello, Lyceum in Catania, and the main venues of the Italian Musical Youth and Amici della Musica.

Among his recent engagements are a tour with the “Haydn” Orchestra of Bolzano conducted by Johannes Wildner performing Beethoven’s Third Concerto (Auditorium Haydn in Bolzano, Teatro Sociale in Trento, Sala Verdi in Milan); Mozart concertos at the Concertgebouw in Bruges, deSingel in Antwerp, and Royal Theatre in Brussels with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Angus; performances of Beethoven and Liszt concertos at the Opéra de Nice, Auditorium “C. Pollini” in Padua, and Teatro “Da Ponte” in Vittorio Veneto under the direction of Yuri Simonov and Zsolt Hamar.

He also performed concertos by Clara Wieck, Gershwin, and Schumann with the symphony orchestras of Udine, Bergamo, and Sanremo, conducted by Tiziano Severini, Fabrizio Carminati, and Dimitri Vasiliev (Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Sanremo Casino Opera, and Teatro Nuovo in Udine). He collaborated with I Virtuosi Italiani under Corrado Rovaris (Teatro Filarmonico and Teatro Nuovo in Verona), and gave duo recitals with Bruno Giuranna, Francesco de Angelis, Jennifer Stumm, and Willi Zimmerman. He also appeared at international festivals in Usedom and Donaueschingen (Germany) and at the Confluence Musikfest in Zurich.

His performances have been widely acclaimed by the Italian press, which praised his playing with remarks such as:

He has been invited to perform at Teatro alla Scala in Milan for four consecutive seasons as part of the Chamber Music Concert Series.

Paruzzo has recorded for RAI, La7, and the record labels Concerto and Ambitus, as well as for Amadeus music magazine with soloists from Teatro alla Scala.

He currently teaches Piano at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto and at the “Tibor Varga” Summer Academy in Sion (Switzerland).
