Stauffer and Cremona Musica: Open Class with Vilde Frang
On 2 October at 6 pm, acclaimed Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang, recipient of the 2026 Cremona Musica Award in the “Performance Archi” category, will be a guest of the Stauffer Academy for an Open Class open to the public.
Part of the collaboration between the Stauffer Academy and Cremona Musica, the event will take place at 6 pm in the Sala Stradivari at Palazzo Stauffer.
Vilde Frang made her debut with the Oslo Philharmonic at just twelve years old, following an invitation from Mariss Jansons. Since then, she has built an international career performing with some of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berliner Philharmoniker, London Symphony Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic. In 2012, she received the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award and made her debut with the Wiener Philharmoniker under Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Festival. An exclusive Warner Classics artist, she combines her solo career with a strong commitment to chamber music. The Guardian has described her sound as “icy, fiery, whispered, ultra-rich.”
During the Open Class, Vilde Frang will work with Kristel Kraja and Teofil Milenkovic, students of Salvatore Accardo’s Violin Course, on works from the major violin repertoire, accompanied by pianist Maria Grazia Bellocchio.
The Open Class will offer audiences a rare opportunity to see the work behind a performance, from technique to interpretation.
Admission is free, subject to availability.
