The second concert of the Stauffer Summer Music Festival featured the South African cellist Abel Selaocoe, who immersed the Stauffer Garden into an electrifying sound dimension.
The programme included original pieces written by Maestro and unconventional arrangements of popular compositions, inspired by African and European traditions.
The Stauffer students and the instrumentalists from the WYO String Ensemble performed alongside Selaocoe, delving into extraordinary rhythms, improvisational moments and giving free rein to instrumental and vocal virtuosity. The special guest of the evening, Aleksey Igudesman, joined the musicians on stage for the final exhilarating piece.
