A fascinating sonic journey, dedicated to dance motifs in the cellist repertoire: during the Special Audition at the Museo del Violinio, Francesco Tamburini, the student of Maestro Antonio Meneses at Stauffer, played the precious Stradivari cello “Stauffer – ex Cristiani” 1700.
The instrument, is still considered one of the finest examples among the great master’s works, and one of the very few Stradivari cellos still preserved – in Italy, only 2 in public collections. In 2002 it passed into the ownership of the Stauffer Foundation, at the behest of President Paolo Salvelli, so as to bring it back to the city where it was first played.
