Today we remember the passing of Rocco Filippini, unforgettable musician and great teacher of the cello, founding Maestro of the Stauffer Academy, where he taught continuously from 1985 to 2015.

One of the greatest exponents of the Italian cello school, appreciated for his admirable clarity of sound and elegance of phrasing, Filippini left an indelible imprint on our Academy and on the many young musicians who studied with him. His extraordinary culture and depth as an interpreter will forever remain in the history of music, Italian and beyond.

Thank you, Maestro!
