On November 6, 2023, the Cremona City Council unanimously voted to grant honorary citizenship to Stauffer Academy Masters Bruno Giuranna and Franco Petracchi.
The initiative, led by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, Gian Domenico Auricchio, and Stauffer Foundation President Alessandro Tantardini, highlights the significant role the two Maestros have played in the city’s cultural life.
As founding masters of the Stauffer Academy, alongside Maestro Salvatore Accardo (an honorary citizen since 1988), they are pivotal figures in international music education, specializing in viola and double bass, respectively.
Thanks to their contributions, Cremona proudly hosts one of Europe’s most esteemed academies, capable of attracting young students from around the world each year who wish to refine their skills with them.
Maestro Bruno Giuranna and Maestro Franco Petracchi are also extraordinary soloists, capable of leaving an indelible mark on the history of music and their instruments.
We take pride in this recognition. Congratulations, Maestros!
Alongside them, honorary citizenship of Cremona will also be conferred upon Sergej Krylov, who, precisely in Cremona and under the guidance of Maestro Accardo, laid the foundations for a brilliant solo career. Congratulations!
