Home > Lab Research: the string compositions of Camille Saint-Saëns

From November 16 to 18, 2021, the first Musicological Research Lab will be held at the Stauffer Center for Strings. In an exclusive three-meeting series, IreMus (Institut de Recherche en Musicologie) will present the new critical edition of Camille Saint-Saëns’ string compositions, which it has produced for the Bärenreiter publishing house on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the French composer’s death.

During the Lab, musicologists and instrumentalists will analyze Saint-Saëns’ violin and piano sonatas and string quartets together, exploring their scores and different approaches to performance. This is a valuable opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the great French composer’s masterpieces.

The seminar is open to researchers and musicians; places are limited. Register by Nov. 12, for all information visit the dedicated page
